So I needed to fly to Reno a weekend ago for the state softball tournament. Melissa’s 18-and-under team was playing, as was the 16u team I help coach. I was working in my Frederick, Md., office, so I would fly from Baltimore to Reno, via Las Vegas (that’s how Southwest Airlines rolls). Since my home base is Las Vegas, I would have to pay the difference for the additional leg of my trip to Reno. We checked the prices, and it was $15 cheaper to fly from Baltimore to Las Vegas to Reno than it was for me to only fly from Baltimore to Las Vegas. So, in essence, they paid me $15 to continue flying to Reno. I guess they'll do anything to get people to go to Reno.
